About this event

Parking Amnesty Day is an opportunity for students and employees at the University to get money off of their parking tickets in exchange for donations or service to the Birmingham community.

Accepted donations

• Clothing: gently used and brought pre-washed

• Food: Canned foods, boxed foods, pasta, rice, snacks

• Necessities: Toiletries, feminine hygiene products, diapers, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Each item donated is worth $5, plus an additional $5 for the sixth item donated up to a maximum $30 off a citation.

2 hours of volunteering with Serve205 is worth up to $30 off.

An adjustment may be applied to one outstanding citation, or a refund issued for one citation that has already been paid or transferred to a student account, up to a maximum value of $30, for a citation issued between May 11, 2026 and November 10, 2026. Adjustments and refunds are limited to the value of the citation and a late fee (if applicable). An actual value totaling less than $30 will receive a maximum adjustment or refund equal to that amount only.

Bring the parking ticket or know the license plate number of the ticketed vehicle.
