Susan DuBose is promoting House Bill 78 to limit screen time in early schools; if passed, the law will go into effect in 2027 and require that children under two use screens only for video calls and that 2- to 4-year-olds have 30 minutes per day — with new training for teachers and supervisors. Ivey has awarded $43.8 million in grants to 18 community action agencies to help low-income households cover heating + cooling costs during extreme weather days; the funds, coming through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will be managed by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs.
