- ➤ Birmingham-based KultureCity is seeking a $3.5M commitment from Jefferson County today to fund its National Accessibility Park at the historic Powell Steam Plant + the project will feature a technical college, workforce training center, museum and outdoor amphitheater expected to draw 250,000 visitors and boost economic activity. - ➤ UAB experts advise parents to choose simple, interactive toys (blocks, puzzles, and art supplies) over screens to boost early brain development and language skills in children. They stress that active play and shared time help foster creativity and effective communication. The Birmingham Times

- ➤ Birmingham City Council approved agreements with Greater Birmingham Habitat for Humanity to build eight affordable homes, repair roofs for 20 residents, and allocate $450,000 in grants for roof replacement for 60 households in Rising West Princeton to help low and moderate-income families.
