  • Miles College Purple Marching Machine earned the ESPN 2025 Red Lobster HBCU Division II Band of the Year title Friday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta by beating Fayetteville State’s Marching Bronco Express for its second national crown.   • U.S. Reps. Terri Sewell and Shomari Figures sent a letter on Monday urging the University of Alabama to restore two student-run publications suspended due to DEI policy compliance.   • State Rep.
