- ➤ Two severely wounded combat veterans will receive all-terrain Trackchairs at halftime during this year's Iron Bowl—organized by The Independence Fund and Kappa Alpha chapters from Alabama and Auburn. - ➤ Cleanup after storms in Alabama has been underway as volunteers remove debris and help neighbors at local centers—Red Cross teams opened a reception center at Gardendale on Nov. 25. The group urged more people to donate blood or help with paperwork to support survivors. 6 WBRC News
- ➤ Regions Bank continued Birmingham’s Magic City Christmas tradition on Friday, November 28 by unveiling its tallest Christmas display on the 30-story Regions Center building — the display lights over 2,600 windows to form a giant tree, wreath and stocking, will run until New Year's Day while a public event featured music, food trucks and coffee. 6 WBRC News
- ➤ Staff at a Homewood retirement home that caught fire are thankful after Church of the Highlands provided a Cracker Barrel Thanksgiving meal to about 55 residents staying in hotels when a power outage halted cooking—Servpro remains in the building and will complete inspections and repairs before residents can return. 6 WBRC News
- ➤ Families around Central Alabama are getting into Christmas mode by picking trees at a lot in Vestavia Hills—most trees come from North Carolina and buyers often bring their dogs to help choose the right one. Scout leader Peter Bosworth said business is normal, and 9-year-old Harper Walker shared that her family always picks a tree that is 'fat' enough to hold more ornaments. WVTM 13
- ➤ Hoover will host eight festive homes for a two-night tour called Home For Christmas on Dec. 9 and Dec. 11 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and the event will benefit Hoover Helps and the Hoover City Schools Foundation at a $100 ticket price—attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots. 6 WBRC News

- ➤ After severe storms damaged eight classrooms at Inglenook K-8 School on Nov 25, students will begin two days of virtual learning next week and attend classes at nearby campuses—prekindergarten at Martha Gaskins Early Learning Center, kindergarten through 2nd grade at Norwood Elementary, and 3rd through 8th at Hudson K-8—while repairs are underway.
