- ➤ United Way of Central Alabama is helping families cope with food insecurity as SNAP benefits are paused today; it is issuing emergency grants via the Community Crisis Fund to food pantries, shelters, and community organizations in six counties. The organization is also updating the 211 Call Center to give households real-time referrals for food, utilities, and housing services — a move aimed at easing local strain. ABC 33/40
- ➤ Birmingham will host 16 Veterans Day events from Nov. 2 to Nov. 21 that honor veterans with parades, ceremonies, runs, and concerts across the city and nearby areas.
