- ➤ Exceptional Foundation's Chili Cook-Off will relocate to The Urban Center at Liberty Park in Vestavia Hills on March 7. The event will feature all-you-can-eat chili, live music and friendly competition to benefit individuals with intellectual disabilities. ABC 33/40

- ➤ Birmingham’s Thank You Books at 5502-B Crestwood Blvd will double its space by expanding into the adjoining unit and will finish early spring—its first expansion since 2021. Co-owner Kristen Iskandrian said the extra room will allow for more inventory and expanded offerings, with Morgan Sowards set to design the added area. AL.com

- ➤ After being fatally shot at a bonfire party less than a week ago, 18-year-old Kimber Mills was honored during Cleveland High School senior night on Oct. 24—her cheerleading team wore pink and her family accepted flowers in her memory—and her funeral service is set for today. 6 WBRC News

- ➤ Today at the AWAKEN event at the Birmingham Museum of Art, Birmingham honored sculptor Joe Minter for his work in art as resistance; he received the Putting People First Award from Mayor Randall L. Woodfin, who said art is a language of liberation & an act of resistance. The event, organized by the Division of Social Justice and Racial Equity during Magic City Classic Week, also featured music, poetry and spoken word that highlighted the city's commitment to social justice. - ➤ Tailgaters gathered near Legion Field yesterday at the Magic City Classic to cook alligator and barbeque ribs while dancing and enjoying music—residents celebrated a strong community spirit during halftime band battles. - ➤ In Irondale, over 20 breast cancer survivors and community members joined the Pink Power Walk to honor loved ones and raise funds for breast cancer research — Mayor James D.
