- ➤ Railroad Park Foundation will host a free community picnic and fundraiser at Railroad Park on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature live music with headliner Pynk Beard and the Birmingham Youth and Young Adult Fellowship Choir—along with children’s activities, a local merchant showcase on 1st Avenue South, and a special ceremony recognizing Birmingham’s 99 neighborhoods at 3 p.m. ABC 33/40

- ➤ Stone Hollow Farmstead, a family farm from Harpersville, opened its second retail location in a shared space with Tracey Barrett Interiors at 2817 18th Street in Homewood. - ➤ Southwest Airlines will add three new nonstop flights from Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport in April 2026 for Denver, Nashville, and Orlando — Denver and Nashville will offer two daily flights while Orlando will operate three weekday flights, according to the Birmingham Airport Authority. - ➤ Birmingham’s culinary scene shines today as Southern Living’s Food & Fire event kicks off at Sloss Furnaces from noon to 4 p.m.—organizers expect 30 open-fire chefs and pitmasters to serve live music, tailgate-style bites, and attract over 1,600 guests. ABC 33/40
- ➤ Conjure Haunted House in North Birmingham opened yesterday evening to give visitors spooky fun and help domestic violence survivors with proceeds to Andrews Place—founded by owner Mambo Baptiste. - ➤ Birmingham offers 42 diverse October events for fall lovers, featuring festivals, concerts and community gatherings—such as the Greek Food Festival from October 2nd to 4th and Furnace Fest from October 3rd to 5th.
