- ➤ Police reported an elderly woman was killed while sitting on her porch — authorities are investigating the incident for clues. 6 WBRC News
- ➤ Patrick Carter, Jr. was found shot Tuesday night in the 2300 block of Second Place NE and taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead — no arrests have been made. WVTM 13
- ➤ Pelham police responded to a shooting at the Grand Reserve Apartments on Grand Reserve Drive shortly after 8 p.m. on Tuesday where a man aged 78, Paul Tooson, was pronounced dead and another man was taken to UAB Hospital with a leg injury after an argument escalated into a struggle—police said the incident posed no threat to the public. - ➤ Three-year-old Ke'Torrius 'KJ' Starkes Jr. died on July 22 from environmental hyperthermia after being left in a hot car by a DHR-contracted worker who ran personal errands— a wrongful death lawsuit was filed naming nine defendants. WVTM 13
- ➤ On Sept. 3, 2025, Antonio Weldon Jr. appeared in court on reckless manslaughter charges for allegedly striking 13-year-old Braylen Hardy on his ATV on Oct. 26, 2024 after speeding and crossing into oncoming traffic—he is also accused of fatally hitting another woman in March. 6 WBRC News
- ➤ On Tuesday evening, Pelham police responded to a fatal shooting at The Grand Reserve on Huntley Parkway—an argument turned deadly when one man shot another, leaving 78-year-old Paul Tooson dead and 51-year-old Saxon Benison with a leg wound, and police continue to investigate the incident.
