  • The Greater Birmingham Humane Society has issued an Emergency Pet Pantry Alert as it runs low on dog and cat food and asks donors to help pet owners facing tough times — donations can be dropped off at its Adoption center.  6 WBRC News
  • On Wednesday, Birmingham programs awarded over $70,000 to more than 40 teens and adults through an initiative that offers violence prevention and business training, including Candance Kemp of Anitra’s Light Foundation whose daughter was killed in a mass shooting. The event at Miles College—attended by local leaders such as Mayor Randall Woodfin—helped participants earn scholarships and build skills to start new businesses.  The Birmingham Times
