- ➤ Birmingham police said shots rang out shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday at Valley Station Apartment Homes on Knob Hill Drive, injuring three people—one with life-threatening wounds and two with non-life-threatening injuries—as a physical fight led to the shooting while officers placed nearly 24 evidence markers in the parking lot. - ➤ A three-year-old Bessemer boy, identified as KJ Starkes Jr., died Tuesday after a contractor left him alone in a hot car near the 1500 block of Pine Tree Drive in Birmingham — police are investigating the incident. 1819 News
