  • The family of Albert Tinney IV held a workout event in Trussville to honor his life and raise mental health awareness one year after his passing. The event featured symbolic exercises and offered mental health support for first responders (all funds raised will be donated to the Heal-the-Hero Foundation).  ABC 33/40

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday night, a massive 120—year-old tree fell during a strong storm in Irondale near Josh Baker’s 125—year-old home on Second Avenue North, hitting a car but missing the house by about four feet as intense winds and hail lasted 30 to 40 minutes.  WVTM 13

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Magic City Organics on 37th Street South announced it will pause its THC/CBD online store and stop pickup and delivery on Monday afternoon as it adapts to a new state law taking effect next week—store customers will no longer see smokable or synthetic products. The owners said they will offer Alabama compliant cannabis goods and new herbal items and plan to move their website to resume out-of-state shipping once they have settled in a new facility.  AL.com

CRIME NEWS

  • Birmingham Police Department is searching for missing 43-year-old Danyale Bedell—she was last seen at around 4 a.m. Friday in the 1400 block of 12th Avenue and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers.  CBS 42
  • A Birmingham man, 26-year-old Marcus Latrell Johnson, is facing drug charges—including two counts of drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia—after a search warrant on the 8000 block of First Avenue South led to seizures of 11.5 grams of fentanyl/met compounds, about 2.5 pounds of marijuana, 0.3 grams of oxycodone, digital scales, packaging material and $879; he is now held at Jefferson County Jail on a $158,000 bond.  CBS 42

  • The 2025 World Police & Fire Games in Birmingham started Friday night when Auburn’s bald eagle Indy made a special presentation at Legacy Arena—more than 8,500 first responders began competing in 1,600 medal matches, and the games will continue until July 6.  AL.com
