  • The Alabama Securities Commission warned locals after two residents were defrauded in pig butchering scams and recovered over $125,000 (most funds remained unrecoverable) as scammers built trust online to lure victims into fake cryptocurrency investments.  6 WBRC News
  • Vestavia Hills police and fire departments responded to a call on June 13 at about 4:08 p.m. on Feldspar Circle where they found a deceased patient — authorities said the cause of death remains undetermined.  ABC 33/40
  • The Hoover Police Department investigated a Saturday shooting at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux on Tattersall Park Drive and confirmed one victim, who is believed to be in stable condition (transported to a hospital), while assuring there was no danger to the public.  CBS 42

  • The Saturn Summer Market—held Saturday, June 14 in Avondale and featuring Alabama artists selling art, vintage items, and handmade goods—brought together local vendors, and organizer Martha Blanton said the event set the stage for more future markets.  CBS 42
