  • The Trussville Veterans Committee will honor two Alabama heroes on Memorial Day. The ceremony takes place Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at the Alabama Fallen Warriors Monument, where a bronze bust of Army Major Dwayne Williams and a memorial dog tag for Major John (Alex) Klinner will be unveiled.  AL.com

  • StoneX has announced plans to open a 46,000 sqft office at Protective Center in Birmingham. The expansion will create about 90 jobs over the next three to five years and is expected to strengthen the local financial services sector.  Bham Now
  • Hallmark Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram now offers a pickup & return oil change service that picks up vehicles from a nearby location and brings them back after an oil change, free multi-point inspection, and alignment check.   • Broadway's & Juliet is playing at BJCC Concert Hall through Sunday, May 24 and features Vestavia Hills native Nicole Lamb, who returns home to showcase local theater roots as she covers multiple roles in the musical that mixes pop hits with a fresh twist on a classic tale.  Bham Now
  • The Oak Ridge Boys will headline Field & Stage Music Fest at Legacy Arena at the BJCC from July 17-19. Tickets include free entry to the World Deer Expo featuring hunting, fishing, demos & celebrity guests, making it a unique summer event.  AL.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Birmingham City Council approved $50,350 in funding for district 6 home repairs to help seniors and other homeowners with critical repairs (using ARPA dollars) and exterior maintenance. The project will maintain neighborhood stability and support community revitalization.  AL.com

  • Hewitt-Trussville won Game 1 of the Class 7A baseball championship as FSU commit Jace Riggan (pitching seven strong innings) led a 4-1 victory over Auburn at Choccolocco Park. The Huskies need one more win; Game 2 takes place Friday at 4 p.m. at Jacksonville State University.  AL.com
  • NFL offseason rosters now include 240 players from Alabama high schools and colleges, making up over 8% of roster spots + the Philadelphia Eagles lead with 14 while the Minnesota Vikings have 3.  AL.com
