  • Zion Memorial Gardens in Birmingham closed abruptly on Monday, leaving families unsure about prepaid plot refunds and upcoming burials. Funeral directors now advise arranging alternative burial sites as the county board has not intervened.  WVTM 13
  • Woodlawn High School athletes carried out a beautification project at the Historic Sloss Furnaces on Tuesday, May 19. They bagged leaves, pruned shrubs, and cleaned historic structures (guided by coach Clarence Williams and heritage expert Ralph Carp) to connect with Birmingham's history.  The Birmingham Times

  • UAB's Division of Neonatology received a $634,334 R34 grant for a three-year trial on early milk nutrition for preterm infants.
