  • Brasfield & Gorrie finished a new three-story, 28,500-square-foot wing at its Birmingham headquarters in the Lakeview District, an $18.9 million project that added 64 jobs. The company, which was founded in 1964, now has about 1,400 employees and plans to exceed its goal of 85 headquarters roles in the next five years & shows its long-term commitment to the community.  Yellowhammer News

  • Calera police and search teams are looking for 72-year-old Reuben Waithaka—a grandfather visiting from Kenya to celebrate his grandson’s graduation—after he was last seen around 11 a.m. Thursday near Merion Drive in the Timberline neighborhood, and authorities ask anyone with information to call immediately.  6 WBRC News

  • Birmingham will host the Magic City 205 Youth Film Festival on June 28-29, where children in grades 4-12 will show films made at the Dundrill Heights Spring Break Film Camp at the Carver Theatre on June 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and have an awards show until 7:00 p.m. A private reception on June 28 will feature celebrity guests like Carl Anthony Payne & Tony Vaughn.  Bham Now
