  • Local donors raised nearly $600K in fall 2025 for the Community Foundation’s Giving Together program, which supported 65 nonprofits offering after-school tutoring, health initiatives, job training, and disability services.   • Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is hosting a job fair today from 9 a.m. to noon in the upper terminal event room near door 4U.   • More than 4,000 books from Birmingham-Southern College now enrich Glenwood’s Library in the Woods, which opened Friday, May 8, during a festive ribbon cutting. The donated volumes—focused on diverse representation—provide vital reading resources for students, teachers and families.  Bham Now
  • UAB public relations students earned state acclaim this spring after securing 35 PRCA awards & additional state honors for group campaigns and newsletters. The chapter was named Bettie C.   • UAB Libraries hosted a free workshop for local K-12 educators in late April to share AI skills and classroom resource strategies.
