- ➤ UniverSoul Circus concluded its Birmingham tour on April 26 at Booker T. Washington K-8, where students and staff welcomed dazzling acts & cultural performances reflecting decades of multicultural tradition. - ➤ Three UAB faculty have established a Community Solutions Collaborative to give students real-world experience serving Birmingham. The labs offer hands-on practice in digital forensics & law and data science to support local community partners. The Birmingham Times

- ➤ After turkey hunting earlier this month, Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth warned outdoorsmen after testing positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Symptoms (swollen glands, severe nausea) emerged two weeks after a tick bite, and he urged proper tick-prevention steps. AL.com
- ➤ Jason Smith is directing SAFER Together—a program that lets local gun owners voluntarily store their firearms at participating shops to help reduce suicides—which was enabled last year by Gov. Ivey’s act, with sites in Pelham, Montgomery, and Dadeville. AL.com
