- ➤ Residents may receive text messages that claim they owe an unpaid toll bill but these texts are scams—not sent by the Alabama Department of Transportation. - ➤ A jury convicted Demarcus Chandler of capital murder for hiring Solomon Minatee III in the murder-for-hire killing of his girlfriend Raven Swain on July 28, 2020—and he was sentenced to death on April 15. 6 WBRC News
