- ➤ The Jasper community held a memorial walk Saturday to honor 4-year-old Johnathan 'John John' Boley who died earlier this year after his disappearance and a two-day search that ended in hypothermia, with about 50 residents raising $1,500 for the Children's Advocacy Center during Child Abuse Awareness Month. - ➤ More than 800 runners and walkers took part in the Red Shoe Run: Rockin' 5K on Saturday at the Ronald McDonald House on 4th Avenue South, raising over $45,000 to help families with critically ill children. The annual fundraiser showcased local community spirit. 6 WBRC News
- ➤ The 16th annual Mutt Strut took place Saturday, Apr. 11 at Homewood Central Park and raised funds for Hand in Paw, which trains therapy dogs and their handlers to visit schools, nursing homes, and hospitals. About 500+ dog lovers joined the 5K and fun run to support the cause. 6 WBRC News
