- ➤ Birmingham police said they found a man with life-threatening injuries from a shooting near 28th Street South and 7th Avenue South just before 2 a.m. on March 30 after an argument over a car crash — no one is in custody. WVTM 13

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex generated $349.8 million in economic impact in 2024, with an increase of $32.9 million from 2023 and support for nearly 2,400 jobs from 466 events and 1.4 million visitors. - ➤ Governor Kay Ivey signed a law in March that makes it a felony to own devices that turn pistols into machine guns — punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Police said the law came after a fatal shooting outside a Birmingham lounge in September that killed four and injured 17 people. WVTM 13
