- ➤ After an EF-1 tornado struck Calera on March 15 and damaged its sanctuary, Calera Baptist Church moved its worship to a temporary space at Calera High School. - ➤ The Alabama Department of Transportation warned local residents about scam texts that claim they owe an outstanding toll and state that failure to pay by April 2 will lead to penalties or legal action. People are urged not to click any link and to forward these messages or move them to their junk folder — the texts are not sent by ALDOT. 1819 News
