After an EF-1 tornado struck Calera on March 15 and damaged its sanctuary, Calera Baptist Church moved its worship to a temporary space at Calera High School.
The church held its first combined service on March 23 at 10:45 a.m. and plans to resume regular classes next week and full Sunday School in two weeks.

Downtown Birmingham businesses are preparing for a surge in customers from the NCAA women's basketball tournament starting Friday and Monster Jam on Saturday this weekend—local shops and restaurants have added extra staff and stocked supplies to meet the demand.
