- ➤ KultureCity announced that it will donate and build a permanent sensory room at Birmingham Zoo to honor Libby Hagan, whose family founded Libby’s Friends; the new room, designed with soft lighting, sensory tools (and comfortable seating), will offer a calming space for guests experiencing sensory overload. - ➤ Calera city leaders have proposed an interactive veterans memorial behind the public library (featuring a wall displaying veterans’ names, service dates and QR codes linking to personal stories) that will include an F-84 aircraft, and the city has applied for grant funding to support the project. - ➤ UAB led a study that found monthly injections of cabotegravir and rilpivirine worked better than daily pills in preventing treatment failure among people with HIV.
