- ➤ Eddie Bauer, a popular Seattle-based outdoor clothing store, has announced plans to close its location at The Outlets at Grand River (offering a 40% to 60% sale) as its parent files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. - ➤ Bessemer’s historic Lincoln Theatre, added to the 2025 Places in Peril list by the Alabama Historical Commission, opened in 1948 and once served as a hub for Black audiences. - ➤ The 16th Street Baptist Church remains an active ministry and a living testament to the civil rights era after 60 years, preserving its historic elements while preparing to add an education and visitor center next door.
