- ➤ The Resting Place of Pelham opened on the First Baptist Church campus to support homeless women with children. Executive director Amanda Claridy, who experienced homelessness herself, said the center offers showers, laundry, ready meals, shelter referrals, and internet access. WVTM 13
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Alabama State Parks launched its new Junior Park Ranger Program to offer free outdoor educational activities for kids (ages 5-12) and families across 21 parks. Participants can download an activity guide online or pick one up at a park to earn a badge and certificate. Yellowhammer News
- ➤ Birmingham City Schools hosted the annual Donuts with Dad event this week, drawing more than 150 father figures to Hayes K-8 and West End Academy to promote male mentoring and involvement in education (sponsored by the Birmingham Education Foundation). WVTM 13
