- ➤ Shelby County’s Longleaf Recovery + Wellness Center has been approved by the state to operate its new inpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment facility. The 150-acre campus is slated to open early next year near Sterrett, about a 45-minute drive from downtown Birmingham. Bham Now
- ➤ A new law passed during the 2025 session creates the Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program to help keep at-risk rural hospitals open.
