- ➤ Schumacher, a renowned design company founded in 1889, opened a new showroom in Pepper Place this past December at 2807 2nd Ave S Suite B — a space formerly occupied by Little Professor bookstore. - ➤ After hosting 30 live shows and drawing over 174,000 fans, Birmingham’s new Coca-Cola Amphitheater wrapped its first season featuring artists from Dave Matthews Band to T-Pain while achieving key zero-waste milestones (including a 70% landfill diversion rate). - ➤ The City of Irondale proclaimed Jan. 6 as Lieutenant Mark Meadows Remembrance Day to honor the late officer who died while directing traffic a year ago. Mayor James D. - ➤ Jefferson County officials will vote on a zoning change Thursday at 9 to allow a bar at the site of the old strip club, Wesley's Booby Trap. The property lost its original C-5 designation after closing over a year ago, and hundreds of residents signed a petition opposing the change. WVTM 13
